The second chakra, Svadhisthana, is also known as the creativity and sexual chakra. The word svadhisthana can be translated as “the dwelling place of the self,” and the element of the second chakra is water, which equals cohesiveness. You can open this chakra with creative expression and by honoring your body. Our sacral chakra is best known as our home of sexual energy, but this chakras power goes far beyond the act of love and is responsible for conjuring the force of life within us. Carnelian asks us to embrace our own personal power, it allows us to use that sensual energy on ourselves to discover our own personal gratification. It makes us recognize we are just as deserving our pleasuring ourselves and to not use that energy on those undeserving of our affection.
